What Temporarily Worked: We thought we had it when we updated the Intel 9560 Wireless Drivers as it worked initially, but a few days to a week later the issue returned. We have tried clearing the SIP profile, other user accounts, other Wi-Fi networks, updating the Skype version and nothing worked.
We have already confirmed it is not the VPN causing this issue as our network team ran some tests and confirmed it. This could last up to 90 minutes before finally signing in. The issue occurs when the user brings their laptop home and connects to their Wi-Fi then to our VPN and tried to sign into skype. The laptops have no issues connecting to skype when using a wired Ethernet connection either in the office or at home via VPN. The users that get the issue will either get stuck on the main login screen for Skype on “signing in” or they get passed the sign in screen and just see themselves and everyone else as “ Presence Unknown” (example. Our other laptops from Dell have no issues. Background: The Company I work for received new Dell 54s that have intermittent issues connecting to Skype for Business (issue was replicated on multiple versions) on a WiFi connection while working from home connected through our VPN.
